All around the country, people will gather at their local city halls to call on local elected officials to commit to building the just, 100% renewable energy-powered world we need
Together, we can demonstrate the power and urgency of our demands to elected officials and the public. This isn't just about resolutions in our cities and towns; it's about changing the standard of climate leadership for the better. Sign up here to host a May 14 Spring Forward to Fossil Free event at your local city hall.
Spring Forward to Fossil Free will be a united day of action across the country -- but events can take different forms in different places, depending on what best suits your local context. If another day in the week of May 14 works best for your campaign, that's all right. Here are some suggestions to help you start planning:
- Meet at City Hall (or your target’s location) to canvass local community members.
- Meet at City Hall for an action (ie: rally, press event, etc)
- Meet at City Hall to take a photo with campaign volunteers and signs with your demands.
The more visual and creative your Spring Forward to Fossil Free event is, the more engaging and successful it will be! We’ll support you every step of the way to plan and execute a powerful day of action, and we’ll send you an art kit to help you create a visually appealing event.
Fossil Free is about people power. By raising our collective voice, we can send a clear message to elected officials that we are powerful, organized, and ready to fight for an end to new fossil fuel projects and a just transition to 100% renewable energy. Working together, we can raise the bar on what it means to be a real climate leader and force elected officials to take bold action.
Whether in the smallest towns or the biggest cities, each new Fossil Free Resolution campaign brings more weight to our demands for an end to new fossil fuel projects and a just transition to 100% renewable energy for all.
We've made our demands clear to politicians. We've spoken about them to our neighbors and brought them on board. Now it's time to amp up the pressure. Are you ready? Sign up now to host a Spring Forward to Fossil Free event on May 14.
